Plant Sale

The 21th annual Gwynne Vaughan Park Plant Sale and Garden Party was held Saturday, June 3, 2017 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm at the Gwynne Vaughan Park.  It  featured more than 25 booths, selling,  Hostas,  Japanese maples, specialty herbs and vegetables, unusual perennials and shrubs, some annuals, some bulbs  plus hundreds of other plants from nurseries all over the Fraser Valley. There will also be a wide variety of garden-related ornaments and crafts available. Booths and events will include children's activitiies, food as well as plants and crafts.

There was live music, a silent auction, and the Rotary Train. Admission was Free.

All profits go to maintain and enhance the gardens and the house at the Gwynne Vaughan Park.

The 21st Annual Plant Sale  featured the following:

Gwynne Vaughan Park Society:  

Will Host a Large Booth near the parking lot selling plants donated by members,  Sardis School and the Chilliwack Garden Club. We will have Tulip bulbs.   All funds raised by this booth go directly to maintaining the Park.

The Society conducts a Silent Auction.  Vendors, members and some businesses donate special items and plants.  All funds raised by this auction go directly to maintaining the park.  Bidding begins at 9 a.m. and finishes at 2:30 p.m.

Plant sitting:  Drop off your purchases so you can enjoy other activities and food of course.  Pick up when you are ready by driving into the paved parking lot from where ever you are parked.

Parking in the back field is free as is admission.



Coffee and Goodies:  Strangers Becoming Friends Across Nations:  this special group fundraising to sponsor a Syrian Refugee Family will be serving warm cinnamon funs, muffins and other goodies along with coffee, tea, and juice boxes starting at sale opening or earlier.

Strawberry Tea:  This event will open at 10 a.m. and will serve until sold out. 

Hot Dogs and Beverages:  Will be cooked and served by PEO.  For more information on this group visit  This groups kindly donates all their profits to the Gwynne Vaughan Park Society.

Shandhar Hut:  Serving delicious Indian Food. 



Special Acitivites:  Rotary Train will depart from the North Side of the Parking Lot.  Everyone loves a train and it is great that this busy group of volunteers will come to our plant sale. 

                              Scavenger Hunt conducted by the Fraser Valley Permaculture Society for "kids" of all ages. 

                              Visit the Master Gardener's and have your plant questions answered.

                             Chilliwack  Quilters Guild will have a booth and a charity Quilt Raffle. 

                             Look for the Rotary Booth                         . 


Music:  Otto Bjornson,  Chilliwack Metropolitan Orchestra and Chilliwack Community Band will all play Garden appropriate music in the Rotary Pavilion
